Summer Concert, Birthday's, Kids and Camping!

This last weekend was Rachel Casper-Lamb's birthday and it worked out that she would be in Great Basin for a family reunion. Now in our old ages we only see each other a couple times a year so I made the trip to Bethel. Luckily this happened to be the same weekend as the Summer Concert Series and I was able to see my family and get a little music in as well. It was such a wonderful weekend. I miss having Rachel around and it was so nice to just sit around with her and play with her adorable kids. I will warn you that there is a hole lota kid pictures on this post. :)

The Summer Concert Series was great. Absolutely incredible Russian Teacakes which are .... I don't know... the best cookies ever! oh, and not to mention the fantastic music.
Brian Hamilton played a few guitar songs and little miss Ava danced while he played. It was fantastic! She even had the head flips down.

When I got to EskDale my mom surprised me with the most incredible birthday gift! Rosaleen, my Mom, my Dad and my Grandma Betsy went in on getting me a Nikon D3000. I cannot say thank you enough!! Now I am by no means a fabulous photographer but it is definitely one of my loves in this world. I am still reading the manual and playing with it a bit but I think I'm slowly figuring it out. :) The rest of these pictures are taken with the Nikon just playing with a bunch of the different settings.

Rachel and Audrey convinced me to head out with them to Oak City on Saturday for their family reunion. I was really glad I decided to go and crossed my fingers that it was o.k. to crash the Hanks reunion. Great food and of course great people.

Sometimes you just need those great weekends where you are surrounded by people you love. The unplanned camping trip was just the kind of little surprise adventure I love.

Hope everyone has a great week!!!
